Dare Labs: Puppets

Puppets is an experimental digital toy created by Dare Labs that lets children use an iPhone to control puppets on the screen of an iPad. The app required simple, intuitive, child-friendly copy and won a place in the D&AD Book 2013:

The innovative digital toy lets you use an iPhone to make an animated puppet walk, wave and jump on your iPad. ‘Puppets’ isn’t a game: there are no levels, tasks to complete, or points to score. Instead, kids can use it to play creatively and express themselves – to tell a story and to put on a show. ‘Puppets’ reacts to their voice and allows them to record their puppet show so they can share the experience with friends and family. It is part of an experiment by Dare to find better ways for children to interact with screen-based technology.
